On November 12th, the historic Beijing-Hong Kong School Dialogue Programme launched at SPCS with a lecture by Professor Alan Macfarlane on“The Empire of Tea.” Students and staff from Hong Kong and Beijing schools were connected in cinema-sized, real time video conference projections as they attended the lecture, asked questions and shared their views. This exciting programme is sponsored and initiated by Li Ka Shing Foundation and Cheung Kong Centre for Creative Industries of the Law School of Shantou University. It is co-organized by the Education and Manpower Bureau, HKSAR, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Ministry of Education.
